Achieve Sustainability was invited to participate in an MBOT Profession Development event on sustainable business at IDEA Mississauga. The discussion focused on how businesses could attract more talent and customers and save money by embedding sustainability. We emphasized the importance of educating leadership and staff about the value of sustainability and preparing now for upcoming regulations. Watch the recording here.
CANADIAN BAR ASSOCIATION (CBA) - ONLINE WORKSHOP: PLANNING, ADAPTATION AND DISCLOSURE IN AN ERA OF CLIMATE CHANGE*
We served as an invited presenter on physical climate risk assessment for due diligence, adaptation planning, and disclosures for a CBA Online Symposium. Participants included environmental lawyers receiving continuing education credits.

Why SMEs Should Be Thinking About Climate Risk.
The webinar covered how climate change impacts small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs}, including infrastructure damage and business continuity and supply chain disruptions. Recent regulations related to climate risk disclosure and the TCFD disclosure framework were discussed. The talk concluded with some actions SMEs can take to build resilience to climate risks, such as having backup power, supplier redundancy, and considering additional insurance.
PHYSICAL CLIMATE CHANGE RISK ASSESSMENT WORKSHOP, CANECT*
We served as an invited workshop trainer on climate change risk assessments, including the basics of climate science, the use of climate models and scenario analysis, and risk assessment in the context of emergency preparedness. Participants consisted primarily of industrial facility EH&S managers.
